This is Joyce. I just have to tell you that as soon as I saw your post today I got a big smile on my face. A friend of mine wrote this on May 28, 2006 and I have had it on my bulletin board since then. I have the original from the newspaper in my hand right now. It is actually by a woman named Regina Brett. And she orginally wrote 45 lessons and then added 5 more on her 50th birthday. Regina is a Pulitzer Prize winner and a cool woman. She is a breast cancer survivor and has been the honorary chair of the Cleveland Race for the Cure for several years. She recently did a powerful multi-part story on the decision that her young daughter made to have a double masectomy as a preventative measure due to so many women in her family being diagnosed with breast cancer. You can read it by going to www.cleveland.com and typing in Regina Brett. A few years back she also did a beautiful column about one of her cousins who was Down syndrome. I will have to look for that one.
I really liked this, it's nice to have stuff like this to help us reflect on what beautiful lives we have. BTW can I get your email? I have your old one from like high school but I don't know if it's current. ;)
what a great list. Thanks for sharing!
